Welcome to the blog that should make you think about everything you put into your mouth (haha, but really)!
This weblog (or blog) has been created in order to educate the public (my MIS 411 class) about the impact that "the corporation" has on the food we eat, the drink we drink, the air we breath, and the future of a society that thrives on efficiencies (and technology).
Just to get the ball rolling, let's look at soda's evil twin... and what a big profit (for corporations) and a little education (for the consumers) can do to our gut.
And if you haven't seen Food Inc. I would highly recommend it taking a quick look at this trailer.
Its an eye opening documentary that is fairly biased but can give you a picture of what food looks like now...and what it should look like in the future.
(Its on Netflix if you have an account!)

...after watching the trailer (or movie) take a look at this second look at what Food Inc. has to say about the way America runs on corporate food.
I admire their stab at stating a corporately grown cow gets all the nutrients it needs from its diet (mostly corn)...

Finally, lets take the focus away from the corporation and look at co-ops, a friendly alternative to having your food shipped from Chile... these are foods that have been shipped from farms just around the corner!
In fact, next time you are on 4th ave. stop by and check out the eco-friendly co-op, right here in T-town.
